The Internet is evolving every day. Internet users are continuing to evolve as well. And today video is becoming extremely important. So important in fact that RLC Design has been digging deep into what our clients can do with today’s video technology, and their outreach to their client base.
Instagram – Facebook – Twitter – Video is everywhere!
If you’re looking to reach an audience on the net today, you’d better start thinking about video. With technology racing ahead, it’s easier than ever before to make quick informational spots about your products and business. And while we say video is “easier than ever before,” we know for many of you it is anything but easy. You’re not a videographer. Most likely you don’t want to be on camera at all. In fact, you may be one of those people who runs away at the sight of a camera pointed at you.
Not to worry, you don’t have to be on camera if you don’t want to be. But you may have to make an adjustment and start thinking about using your camera more often.
The three heavy hitters out there today are of course Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. And all have gotten on board the video bandwagon. Recently Instagram allowed users to post videos up to 60 seconds long. Now think for a moment about the average TV commercial. 30 seconds long maybe? A minute long on the outside? And how much do those commercial advertisements cost?
Bank.
Now think about your business. Are you ready to shell out huge sums of money for a 30 second spot on your local TV station, or maybe a cable ad? You’re going to reach a broad audience. But in the case online, something a little different is going on. If done right, your audience will be seeking you out.
RLC Design is embracing video now
Over the years of travel and work we’ve posted a lot of video. Not to reach new client bases. We’ve just published video for the fun of it, to share information with other travelers, and to keep our blog followers updated. We weren’t seeking out a video audience. But we’ve been developing one without even trying. Imagine what you could achieve if you were trying.
Only a few months ago I was looking through my own YouTube channel and I started realizing something. People are finding our videos on their own, they’re not visiting our website to see the videos. 18,000 views on a 1 year old video about full time RV’ing. That’s 18,000 people that found us purposefully. Imagine if we were trying to sell them something!
How does your business get ahead of the trend today?
If you’re looking for more ways to reach out to your client base, video might be a great option. And it’s not as daunting as you think. There’s some technical stuff going on for sure, and it’s not for everyone. Fortunately, we’re here to help you sort out what will work and what won’t for your business online presence. So get in touch with us today, and we’ll help you sort through the ever evolving Internet, including video.
